CARLOS VAZ

FOUNDER & CEO

Carlos Vaz has been involved in over $2.5B of real estate transactions since 2008. He is passionate about building a solid, vertically integrated company with strong core values, proven systems, and an adept team.

Carlos has received numerous honors from esteemed organizations. He was named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the Dallas Business Journal placed him on their 40 under 40 list — highlighted as a Most Admired CEO. He has helped CONTI earn a place on the Inc. 5000 list seven times, the Dallas 100 list eight times, and the Middle Market 50 list five times. As a recognized thought leader in the multifamily industry, he is a regular guest speaker at many events, such as MFE (Multifamily Executive), Crittenden Multifamily, Marcus & Millichap, and IMN Conferences, among others.

Carlos is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), and the Real Estate Council of Dallas. He is a board member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and the Harvard Club of Dallas. Carlos is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management (OPM) program.

Carlos Vaz, together with his wife and family, are actively engaged in numerous philanthropic organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Trusted World, and Buckner International, among others. Their commitment to giving back reflects their dedication to making a positive impact in their community and beyond.

DAVID QUIRAM

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

David Quiram oversees CONTI’s finance operations and corporate governance. He uses his expertise in financial data to guide strategic decision-making for the company and its investments. David is an influential leader and financial executive with over 20 years of experience in technology, strategy, and financial organizations, specializing in accounting, auditing, pricing and hedging, and investments.

Prior to joining CONTI, David served as CFO for Sustainable Opportunities Acquisition Corp for 3 years, a special purpose acquisition company focused on industries that benefit from strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) profiles. Prior roles also include Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Tax at GenOn Energy, Head of Investments for Enterprise Services of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Senior Manager with Accenture, and multiple roles at TXU Energy. David earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with the Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

LINDA TSE

CONTROLLER

Linda Tse is currently the Controller at CONTI Capital (“CONTI”). Linda earned her CPA license in 2002 and CFA charter in 2007. She joined CONTI in February 2022. In addition to day-to-day accounting and reporting responsibilities over the funds and direct real estate investments, she has been directly working with the audit and tax advisory firms on audit and tax related matters, involved with dispositions and acquisitions transactions, reviewing fund governing documents, and responding to investor inquiries.

Prior to CONTI, Linda was General Accounting Manager and previously Treasury Accounting Manager with Toyota Financial Services (“TFS”) for over five years. Linda managed a team of 6 on all accounting and reporting functions related to TFS treasury activities. Then she transitioned to be the General Accounting Manager at TFS where she managed Toyota Financial Services’ general accounting functions which included corporate accounting and IT accounting. She coordinated the close process with all accounting and financial reporting teams, and consolidated financial statements to present monthly and quarterly financial results to TFS accounting leadership.

Prior to Toyota, Linda was a Senior Fund Controller at MUFG, a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, where she led the fund accounting team to provide accounting, financial reporting, and capital transaction services to real estate funds and direct private equity funds with both domestic and international investment portfolios.

ELIZABETH SCHECHTER

ASSET MANAGER

Elizabeth Schechter, Asset Manager, joined CONTI in December. She specializes in strategic asset management, financial analysis, property repositioning, and investor reporting. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Elizabeth has a proven track record of optimizing property performance and maximizing asset value.

Prior to joining CONTI, Elizabeth has worked as a Senior Underwriter of loans for both bridge lending programs and DUS originations. Elizabeth grew up in New York and graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Business Administration.

Outside of work, Elizabeth is an avid traveler, scuba diving enthusiast, and history buff. She enjoys exploring new destinations, discovering underwater worlds, and learning about different cultures and historical events.

LYNNE VAZ

Lynne Vaz is a seasoned professional skilled in executive coaching, problem-solving, and communication. With over twenty years of experience guiding top-tier executives to reach their fullest potential, Lynne possesses a rare talent for unlocking hidden strengths and overcoming obstacles, and she excels in dissecting complex challenges and devising strategic solutions that drive tangible results. Her exceptional communication skills foster collaboration and clarity, ensuring that teams are aligned and goals are achieved. With a passion for empowering individuals and organizations to thrive, Lynne is dedicated to catalyzing meaningful change and fostering success at every level.

Lynne is also a committed community member and family person. Volunteering in her community and church holds a special place in her heart, reflecting her values of service and compassion. Whether it’s organizing school events, leading charitable initiatives, or providing support to those in need, Lynne invests her time and energy into making a positive impact close to home and around the world.

In her free time, Lynne indulges her curious mind and adventurous spirit through travel, exploring new destinations and cultures with her loved ones. Lynne finds joy and great fulfillment in her role as a wife and mother. Her family is the center of her world, and she cherishes every moment spent with them, building memories and sharing experiences. She enjoys solving puzzles and immersing herself in a good book. Balancing her professional endeavors with her passion for community service, family, and personal interests, Lynne embodies a holistic approach to life, where each facet enriches the other.
