Airport officials in McKinney receive funding to start commercial terminal expansion

“At a joint meeting on March 18, McKinney’s Economic Development Corp. and its Community Development Corp. approved $52.4 million for the first phase of the commercial expansion project. That includes $22.4 million through the EDC and $30 million in interim financing through the CDC. The community development corporation will be reimbursed with a federal loan through the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act once it closes, Airport Director Ken Carley said. The grant application was previously tabled during a CDC hearing on Feb. 27.“
